Science Blast
Science Blast:
Our 3rd and 4th Class pupils are currently busy preparing for Science Blast 2026! This year, their project explores a very interesting question: “Does the Brand Really Matter?”
The children are investigating whether people can actually taste the difference between branded and non-branded food products. From biscuits to cereals and other everyday foods, they will be putting popular items to the test in a series of blind taste experiments. The children will be making predictions and forming clear hypotheses, designing fair tests to ensure accurate results, conducting blind taste tests, recording and analysing their data, and representing their findings using graphs and charts.
The highlight of the project will be when the class presents their findings at the Science Blast showcase in University of Limerick at the end of May. This will give them the opportunity to share their research with other schools, educators and STEM professionals.
